Preschool, children’s registration opens

[1]

INDIANAPOLIS (BP)–Registration is now open for families planning to enroll their children in June 8-11 preschool childcare or the children’s conference in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting in Indianapolis, Ind.

For all information regarding registration, visit www.sbc.net and click on “2008 SBC Annual Meeting” then “Children/Students.”

PRESCHOOL CHILDCARE

Childcare for newborns through 3-year-olds will be available from Sunday through Wednesday. (For children 4 and older, see below.) There is a non-refundable registration fee of $10.00 per child. This fee is in addition to the session fee for the convention. The cost per session is $5.00 per child, not to exceed $40.00 per family plus the $10.00 non-refundable registration fee. Lunch also will be available for the preschoolers on Monday and Tuesday for a cost of $5.00 per lunch. Complete payment is due for all sessions and lunch if selected, no later than when you arrive for your first session.

Registration information may be obtained in one of three ways:

— e-mailing [email protected], including the sender’s name and address.

[2]

— downloading a set of forms for each child at www.sbc.net, Children/Students. You will need one set per child. Registration, including payment options, is available on line this year.

— write to State Convention of Baptists in Indiana, 900 N High School Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46214 to request the material be sent to you. Be sure to include your name and address.

— telephone the preschool chairpersons: Kathy Gibbs, 317-535-7339, or Michelle Mullenix, 317-371-5959. Leave a message that includes your name, address and phone number.

To assure that your child is registered, applications and fees must be submitted promptly. Once the completed forms and registration fee for each child are received, a confirmation packet, parent handbook, security information and procedures for check-in and check-out will be sent. The materials also will include information about preschool policies, hours of operation, fees and registration forms.

The deadline for preschool childcare registration is May 18 and is limited to 150 children. Parents wanting to register their children after May 18 may print the required information and bring it to Indianapolis, where they will be registered on-site on a space-available basis. Questions about this year’s childcare can be directed to the telephone numbers listed above.

Preschool registration will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents are urged to return the registration materials immediately to the address located on the form.

CHILDREN’S CONFERENCE

Children ages 4-12 will be part of the age-graded children’s conferences at the SBC annual meeting in Indianapolis.

Children’s Conferences International will provide an age-graded, Scripture-based conference for all children ages 4-12. This year’s theme, “The Sword and the Soap,” will include fun songs, crafts, stories, skits and games.

The cost for the children’s conference is $45 per child. However, only $20 is required per child to register, which is nonrefundable. The balance (an additional $25 per child) is due upon arrival at the conference, although advance payments for the full amount may be made.

“We are delighted to again offer and facilitate biblically based conferences for all age groups 4 years old and beyond during the annual meeting,” said Clark Logan, convention manager and vice president for business and finance of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee.

“We continue to listen to the excellent feedback we receive from parents and are committed to provide the best facilities, activities and leaders for all children so that families will be encouraged to attend the annual meeting in Indianapolis.”
