CASPER, Wyo. (BP)–Randy Sprinkle, executive director of the Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention, has accepted a position with the Baptist Convention of New England as transformational leadership director.

Sprinkle has led Wyoming Baptists the past two years. Previously he served as director of the International Mission Board’s International Prayer Strategy Office for nine years, and he and his wife Nancy were missionaries in Africa for 14 years.

With the New England convention, Sprinkle will establish a new Transformational Leadership Center and develop a strategy for spiritual and missional transformation in the churches.

Sprinkle is the author of a book on prayerwalking, “Follow Me: Becoming a Lifestyle Prayerwalker,” to be re-released Aug. 1 by the New Hope publishing division of Woman’s Missionary Union. He currently is working on a book on spiritual warfare in the day-to-day world to be released in 2006.

The Wyoming convention’s executive board has named Lynn Nikkel to serve as interim executive director for a two-year period. Nikkel most recently has served as the convention’s church health strategist.

Nikkel, writing in the state convention’s newspaper, Horizons, noted that Sprinkle “effectively led the convention through some difficult situations and into a process of seeking God’s vision for the state as well as the future strategic ministry of the convention.”
