NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Robert K. Hawley, an executive with more than 20 years’ experience with several nonprofit organizations, has joined the capital resource development department of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Hawley, of Prosper, Texas, will serve as western region development officer for LifeWay, a nonprofit organization that has never received funds from the convention.

Since June 1999, Hawley has served as representative of the president for Ligonier Ministries, Lake Mary, Fla. Earlier, he was vice president of sales training and operations for Solutioneering, Inc., vice president of Stephen’s Children Foundation, administrator of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and president of Open Doors Ministry.

“Robert Hawley is one of the most qualified and knowledgeable people in the religious, not-for-profit fundraising arena,” said Gary McCauley, director of LifeWay’s capital resource development department. “His response to the Lord in accepting this calling is a major blessing to the team being put together to raise funds for approved capital projects to expand the ministry outreach of LifeWay.”

In his new role, Hawley will solicit funds from individuals, groups, foundations and corporations for LifeWay ministry projects.

“My focus will be to work with people who have the call of God to do something in ministry but don’t know how to make it happen. We then link them with LifeWay ministries,” Hawley said. We ask people, not just to give money, but to invest in a proven cause.”
