ALEXANDRIA, La. (BP)–”Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is considered prudent,” observed Solomon. Someone should pass the wise king’s observation on to Rosie O’Donnell.
During the March 15 edition of “The View,” the television talk show she helps host, O’Donnell weighed in on the confession of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), in which the admitted terrorist took responsibility for some 30 terror plots as well as the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl.
“I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl, in the city of Karachi, Pakistan,” KSM said in his confession. He adds, “For those who would like to confirm, there are pictures of me on the Internet holding his head.”
Some people are skeptical that KSM was involved in all the terror plots to which he confessed. But there is no doubt that he is part of the infamous Al-Qaida terror network and also a cold-blooded murderer.
The fact that KSM admitted to butchering Pearl apparently had no impact on O’Donnell. Not only did she express sympathy for KSM, but she asserted that his confession was obtained via torture. During her rant, O’Donnell repeatedly claimed that he was beaten at Guantanamo Bay — a place where, she maintained, torture is “accepted and allowed.”
O’Donnell not only refused to believe that KSM is guilty of the terror acts he confessed to, but she believes he has been “robbed of his humanity.” Holding up a picture of a haggard-looking KSM, O’Donnell said, “Doesn’t he look healthy?” What she did not realize, or chose to ignore, is the image of the terrorist was four years old and taken when he was first captured.
This is not the first time that O’Donnell has made outrageous statements concerning terrorism. Previously, she said that radical Christianity is more of a threat to America than Islamic terrorists. O’Donnell has also stated that we should not fear the terrorists because, after all, they are just “moms and dads.”
I think Rosie O’Donnell should be appointed as ambassador to an Islamic country -– pick one, anyone. Better yet, let’s make her ambassador to an area crawling with terrorists. She is so compassionate, understanding and funny, she will have them renouncing their terrorism and singing “Kumbaya” in no time.
O’Donnell as a goodwill ambassador to Islamic terrorists has about as much chance at success as I do being a No. 1 pick in April’s NFL draft.
I don’t know if O’Donnell is naïve or just plain ignorant. However, when it comes to Islamofascism, she has three strikes against her — she is a woman, an avowed homosexual and she is not Muslim.
In the eyes of the Islamofascists, women are, at best, second class citizens. If O’Donnell were to enter a country dominated by Al-Qaida, they would slap a burkha on her so fast it would make her head swim. Additionally, she would be told to sit down and shut-up, and probably not very politely.
O’Donnell’s sexual preference would not win her any points with terrorists. Homosexual behavior is punishable by death in some Muslim countries. At the very least, O’Donnell would face serious jail time for her lesbianism.
Finally, the fact that O’Donnell is not Muslim would hurt her standing with Islamofascists. In their eyes she would be viewed as an infidel. As such, she would be a target for death and would likely be beheaded, just like Daniel Pearl.
For all of O’Donnell’s open-minded compassion, her stint as an ambassador to a country shrouded in Islamofascism would be likely be very short-lived. She represents everything the terrorists loath.
Of course, O’Donnell is not going to listen to me or anyone else when it comes to her ignorance of Islamic terrorists. Her attitude is summed up well in another of Solomon’s wise observations, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes…”
