Salem network to host ‘Richard Land Live!’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–A Saturday talk show featuring Richard Land, the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission president, made its debut June 8.

Titled “Richard Land Live!” the program will be aired from noon to 3 p.m. Eastern time over the Salem Radio Network, a division of Salem Communications Corporation and a leading radio news and program provider.

SRN’s president, Greg R. Anderson, described the network’s new program as a “caller-driven, Saturday mid-day talk show that showcases Land’s passionate, insightful and sometimes prophetic commentary on the pressing issues of the day that impact families across America.”

Anderson said Land “resonates with an ever-growing audience searching for a powerful voice in a culture that has blurred the lines between right and wrong. In an age of moral ambiguity, he speaks clearly and forcefully to listeners who wrestle with cultural, political and spiritual issues.”

Land said Richard Land Live! will focus on events in the news as well as issues that the mainstream culture might ignore but should be of concern to Christian families. “It is my prayer that Richard Land Live! will aid its listeners in examining issues in light of the presuppositions of a Judeo-Christian worldview and help them integrate such a process in their everyday lives,” Land said. “In short, we want to help listeners think ‘Christianly’ about the issues of the day.”

The program will be broadcast live from the Nashville studios of For Faith & Family, the communications ministry arm of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. Land will continue to host the “For Faith & Family” radio program, a 30-minute weekday program, and one-minute commentary. The ERLC broadcast ministry is heard on nearly 600 stations and around the world on the Internet at www.faithandfamily.com.

Salem Communications is the United States’ leading radio broadcaster focused on religious and family themed programming.
