Classic Billy Graham sermons added to Georgia’s ACTS2 TV streaming service

DULUTH, Ga. – The Georgia Baptist Mission Board’s free television streaming service has made a series of popular sermons by the late evangelist Billy Graham available for viewing.

[2]The streaming service, ACTS2, is a family-friendly alternative to television networks. It was started in November to provide wholesome programming for Christian viewers.

“Billy Graham was the greatest evangelist we’ve known in modern days,” said ACTS2 creator Jon Graham. “To hear his voice brings multitudes back to a memory of a ‘God moment’ in their lives. His messages are just as timely today as they were 50 years ago, if not more so. Having this collection of sermons fulfills our mission of being Great Commission television that’s authentically Christian and theologically sound.”

ACTS2 has compiled a strong lineup of programs, including Season 1 of The Chosen, a Christian TV show depicting the life of Christ and his disciples. Graham said being able to add The Chosen to ACTS2 was “a huge win” for the fledgling TV streaming service, an alternative to network television.

“It’s clearly Great Commission oriented and fantastically produced,” he said in announcing the addition in January. “The Chosen has become a household name in Christian entertainment, and to have it on ACTS2 will hopefully continue to make us a household name as well.”

The Georgia Baptist Mission Board has added hundreds of titles to the streaming service so far, including documentary series like Far Flung Tin Can, parenting programs like Parent Compass, children’s programming like Kid’s Beach Club and Awesome Science and women’s programs like Bloom Today.

“Additionally, we’ve just added 11 sermons from the Georgia Baptist Evangelism Conference tour,” Jon Graham said. “And, coming soon, we will have archives of preaching from past Southern Baptist Convention annual meetings since 2012. To our knowledge, this is the only place this content is available for viewing.”

ACTS2 is available at the iOS APP store, Google Play (Android) store, Amazon’s fireTV, Roku and on the web.

Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief helping southeast Oklahoma recover from March 21 tornado

MADILL, Okla. (BP) – Recovery continues after a March 21 tornado struck southeastern Oklahoma. Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) has been serving in the area, helping churches and communities affected by the storm.

[4]“The areas with the most damage are Kingston, Little City and Buncombe Creek,” said Don Williams, Oklahoma DR director, mentioning areas near Madill. “We have assessors and chaplains going through each area, visiting with homeowners and seeing if we can help.”

Williams presented a check from DR for $5,000 to Pastor Keith Rogers of Texoma Southern Baptist Church in Kingston. DR team members are removing debris from The church’s campus, and Williams also reported Campers on Mission have committed to help rebuild Texoma Southern, as the church and the adjacent parsonage took a direct and devastating hit from the tornado.

Little City Baptist Church in Madill also experienced damage. Williams said DR will be presenting a check to Pastor Cecil Mackey early next week.

“We are coming alongside the churches and communities to help them move forward,” Williams said. “Of course, we do this to show we care and to share the love of Jesus.”
