SBC Pastors’ Conference to focus on ‘Greater Things;’ website, speakers unveiled

LOUISVILLE, KY (BP)–The 2010 SBC Pastors’ Conference will focus on “Greater Things,” according to Kevin Ezell, pastor of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., and president of the Orlando, Fla. event to be held June 13-14.

Ezell also announced the launch of the conference’s website, www.sbcpc.net, and the lineup of speakers:

— Danny Akin, president, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, N.C.

— Francis Chan, pastor, Cornerstone Church, Simi Valley, Calif.

— Matt Chandler, pastor, The Village Church, Flower Mound, Texas

— Tony Evans, pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Dallas, Texas

— Steve Gaines, pastor, Bellevue Baptist Church, Cordova, Tenn.

— David Landrith, pastor, Long Hollow Baptist Church, Hendersonville, Tenn.

— C.J. Mahaney, president, Sovereign Grace Ministries, Gaithersburg, Md.

— R. Albert Mohler Jr., president, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky.

— David Platt, pastor, The Church at Brook Hills, Birmingham, Ala.

— Andy Stanley, pastor, North Point Community Church, Alpharetta, Ga.

— David Uth, pastor, First Baptist Church, Orlando, Fla.

— Russell D. Moore, dean, school of theology, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary

Ezell said the Pastors’ Conference leadership team developed the theme of “Greater Things” to encourage attendees to be thankful for the past and to strive for the “Greater Things” yet to come in their personal walks with the Lord, in leading their families and churches and in their work for world missions.

The other team members are the vice president, Jimmy Scroggins, pastor of First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Fla., and the secretary-treasurer, Ben Mandrell, pastor of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn.
