SBC Wounded Ministers lunch tickets available

[1]

ST. LOUIS (BP)–Tickets for the Wounded Ministers lunch on June 10 during the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting are available from LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Ministers and their spouses will be guests at the free lunch to learn about the resources LifeWay’s Pastoral Care/LeaderCare program offers.

“In the past we have focused the luncheon primarily on ministers who have been wounded,” said Dallas Speight, LeaderCare Retreat counselor. “This year we are taking a slightly different approach, with a much broader and updated theme.”

“Total Wellness … Total Ministry” will be the focus of this year’s luncheon, planned for 11:45 to 1:15 p.m. on June 10 in rooms 222-227, level 2, of the America’s Center in St. Louis. Seating is available for 1,000 ministers and spouses. While there is no cost, guests must have a ticket to attend.

The theme is designed to communicate that Pastoral Care/LeaderCare ministries are for pastors and their families in good times as well as times of despair, Speight said. The program will include guest speaker James T. Draper Jr., president of LifeWay; a video highlighting the services of Pastoral Care; and music by Ken Litton of the Missouri Baptist Convention.

Participants will be eligible for door prizes and receive an informational CD-ROM detailing the services and ministries provided by Pastoral Care/LeaderCare.
