DALLAS (BP)–Donald Neuen, choral director of the Crystal Cathedral Choir, was a featured guest during Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s second annual gala concert of sacred music at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas Feb. 17.
Neuen, whose choir is featured each week on the “Hour of Power” television broadcast nationally and in 200 foreign countries, led the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Southwestern Oratorio Chorus in a rendition of “Song of Peace.”
The symphony and chorus also performed works by Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Handel, several of which were arranged by Southwestern faculty members for the event.
And the audience of more than 1,200 friends and alumni of the seminary participated by singing such hymns as “How Firm a Foundation” and “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise.”
A component of the seminary’s annual Church Music Workshop, the event also featured pianist Mary McDonald, organist Bradley Welch, hand bell soloist Christine Anderson and violin and flute duo Bruce Wethey and Lisa LaCross.
