NASHVILLE (BP) – SBC President J.D. Greear has named tellers for the 2021 SBC Annual Meeting, which will be held June 15-16 in Nashville.

“As we come together as Great Commission Baptists at this year’s annual meeting, each committee member plays a role in its success, but the efforts of those on the tellers committee are of unique significance,” Greear said. “Their work to establish the accuracy of our elections and the tabulation of the votes that are cast are of the utmost importance. I am grateful to the members of this committee for their efforts and the integrity they will show in serving the messengers of our convention.”

Tina Boesch

Tina Boesch, member of The Church at Woodbine in Nashville, Tenn., and manager of women’s Bible study publishing at Lifeway Christian Resources, will serve as chairman. Boesch, who is the daughter of former Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Ken Hemphill, previously served as a missionary with the International Mission Board. Monique Broadus, member of New Faith Church in Little Rock, Ark., has been appointed vice chair.

“After nearly two decades serving with the IMB through the generosity of so many Great Commission Baptist churches, I’m grateful to be able to participate in the life of the convention as the chair of the Tellers Committee,” Boesch said. “As we gather, may our conversation, fellowship, and ministry together reflect the character of Christ and His love for the world.”

In keeping with Greear’s commitment to reflecting the SBC’s diversity in its committees, 68 percent of the tellers are non-anglo, and 36 percent are women.
