[1] BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (BP)–The board of directors of the Baptist and Reflector has named Lonnie Wilkey as interim editor of the Tennessee Baptist newsjournal.
Wilkey, associate editor of the Baptist and Reflector for 10 years, has been involved in Baptist journalism since 1980, previously serving in public relations for two South Carolina Baptist colleges and as director of communications for the former SBC Education Commission.
Wilkey is a native of South Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina school of journalism.
The paper’s current editor, Wm. Fletcher Allen, retires March 31 after more than 10 years as editor. A five-member committee from the paper’s board of directors will begin a search for a new editor. Herbert Higdon of Jackson, Tenn., chairs the committee.
