WOODSTOCK, Ga. (BP)–Southern Baptist Convention President Johnny Hunt has released a video for pastors to use in challenging their church members to respond compassionately to the many needs created by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake which devastated Haiti Jan. 12.
Hunt, pastor of First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Ga., told Baptist Press he was asking Southern Baptists to “view the video, pray about it and share it with other church members and as many contacts as you have.”
“Southern Baptists have always been on the front line in responding to the critical needs in the world,” he said. “Let’s share the love of Christ with those precious people who so desperately need it, and ask God to use it for His glory.”
