NASHVILLE, Tenn. Also on today’s schedule is a visit in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Oct. 5 schedule includes a rally at 10 a.m. at Tacoma First Baptist Church in Washington and a 6 p.m. visit at The Bridge, a congregation in Vancouver, the Canadian city which is part of the SBC’s Strategic Focus Cities initiatives.

The final two states in Welch’s national tour –- Alaska and Hawaii, Oct. 6-7 –- will involve air travel. In Alaska, a rally is slated at 6 p.m. at Muldoon Road Baptist Church in Anchorage on Wednesday; in Hawaii, the rally is slated at 6 p.m. Thursday at Waikoloa Baptist Church in Waikoloa.

Monday’s schedule included stops at South Reno Baptist Church in Reno, Nev., and Suburban Heights Baptist Church in Klamath Falls, Ore.

The tour began Aug. 29 at Welch’s home church in Florida, First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, and will end with stops via air travel Oct. 5-7 in Canada, Alaska and Hawaii.

Welch conceived of a national bus tour rally as a means of generating a sense of urgency about evangelism among Southern Baptists. The bus tour is a kickoff for “The Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge for Evangelism” campaign which has the goal of “Witness, Win and Baptize … ONE MILLION!” in one year.
