WHERE IS THE TOUR TODAY? Alaska

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–“The Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge for Evangelism” national tour by Southern Baptist Convention President Bobby Welch begins its two-state air travel itinerary today with a stop in Alaska and tomorrow in Hawaii.

In Alaska, a rally is slated at 6 p.m. at Muldoon Road Baptist Church in Anchorage; in Hawaii, the rally is slated at 6 p.m. Thursday at Waikoloa Baptist Church in Waikoloa.

The 48-state continental U.S. bus tour portion of Welch’s tour concluded yesterday with a rally at Tacoma First Baptist Church in Washington. Yesterday’s schedule also included a visit at The Bridge, a congregation in Vancouver, the Canadian city which is part of the SBC’s Strategic Focus Cities initiatives.

The tour began Aug. 29 at Welch’s home church in Florida, First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, and will end with stops via air travel Oct. 5-7 in Canada, Alaska and Hawaii.

Welch conceived of a national bus tour rally as a means of generating a sense of urgency about evangelism among Southern Baptists. The bus tour is a kickoff for “The Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge for Evangelism” campaign which has the goal of “Witness, Win and Baptize … ONE MILLION!” in one year.
