BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BP)–Dellanna W. O’Brien, executive director/treasurer of the Woman’s Missionary Union, SBC, suffered a “mild” stroke Sept. 26.
WMU officials in Birmingham said O’Brien is “doing OK.”
“Doctors are still doing tests but all of the ones they have done so far have come back clear,” officials told Baptist Press. “She is weak on her right side but still able to get up with assistance. Her speech is slurred but she is able to communicate with family and others.”
Doctors plan to begin therapy Sept. 30 at a Birmingham hospital.
“Both Dellanna and Bill [her husband] are in good spirits,” officials said. “They are concerned but very optimistic about her situation.” No other details were given.
