NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Andrea Reyes, representing the more than 46,000 youth who participated in YouthLink 2000, presented checks for $50,691 to the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board on Feb. 21 during the SBC Executive Committee meeting in Nashville, Tenn. The funds, given by youth during the Dec. 29-31, 1999, SBC millennial event for youth, are designated to fund Generation X churches in the YouthLink host cities, as well as international missions efforts among a particular “World A” group — a people group that has never before had an opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.

Reyes, of Nashville, talked with Southern Baptist leaders (from left) Robert Reccord, president of the North American Mission Board, Avery Willis, senior vice president, International Mission Board, and James T. Draper Jr., president of LifeWay Christian Resources, about her experiences at YouthLink.

YouthLink 2000 was sponsored by four Southern Baptist Convention entities — LifeWay Christian Resources, the International and North American mission boards and Woman’s Missionary Union — as well as Baptist state conventions. Students participated from arenas and conference centers in Anaheim, Calif.; Denver; Houston; St. Louis; Atlanta; Philadelphia; and Tampa, Fla. This is a stand-alone photo.
