Cooperative Program Stage to Highlight CP-Fueled Ministries

Great Commission Advance

SBC missions and ministries will be in the spotlight at the Cooperative Program stage in the exhibit hall at the SBC annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio.

Now in its fifth year, the Cooperative Program stage will reflect a missions partnership between the North American Mission Board and International Mission Board and will be located between the two missions organizations in the exhibit hall.

The interviews and panel discussions will highlight and illustrate the missions and ministries of Southern Baptists fueled by the Cooperative Program, said Ashley Clayton, SBC Executive Committee vice president for Cooperative Program and stewardship.

“The Cooperative Program is about Southern Baptists joining hearts and hands to advance the Great Commission,” said Clayton. “As Southern Baptists, we have a long-standing guiding principle that says, ‘we can do more together than we can do alone.’”

The stage’s programming will feature SBC leaders, missionaries, church planters, and pastors speaking about relevant and timely topics and issues across the Convention. The interview schedule will be organized around the programming in the main convention hall to allow messengers to participate in both.

A complete schedule of interviews will be available on the “SBC Annual Meeting” app and in the daily Bulletin. The interviews and panel discussions will be live-streamed at www.sbcannualmeeting.net and will be made available as video resources after the SBC annual meeting on the Cooperative Program pages of SBC.net.

During the Tuesday afternoon session of the annual meeting, SBC Executive Committee President and CEO Frank S. Page will launch the Great Commission Advance initiative in the second half of the EC report. Components of the Great Commission Advance initiative and strategy will be presented through interviews on the Cooperative Program stage.

“The Cooperative Program levels the playing field,” Page said. “Every church can stand hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, on level ground, as partners in the Gospel.

“I do not know of a better plan for any church—small, large, new, growing, graying, or ethnic—to accomplish an Acts 1:8 strategy than through the Cooperative Program!”
