Thanks!

[1]

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands:

Give thanks to Him:

For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies,
For the love that from our birth over and around us lies.

Give thanks, till your benedictions celebrate His benevolence,
Till your prayers celebrate His purposes,
Till your hallelujahs celebrate His holiness,
Till your te deums deify Him.
Till your Glorias glorify Him,
Till your magnificats, magnify Him.

Give thanks till your oblations are your obsession,
Till gratitude is your attitude.
Give thanks to Him till foolish self-sufficiency is erased,
And glorious self-denial is enhanced.
Give thanks till you see the grace of His abundance,
As the cornucopia of His harvest,
Spilling from your meager seedtimes.

Give thanks –
For joys immeasurable and full of glory!
For pain unhealable and full of humanity!
For shame unanswerable and full of humility!
For grief unbearable and filled with the presence of God!
For despair that ends in hope,
For tears that end in laughter,
For failure that brings us as low as we could ever go,
So that we can ascend to heights that are unimaginable from the depths.
Give thanks for the children, the charities,
The choices you have, yes even for charlatans and cheeky achievers,
For cheers and chats and chants,
And chips and chunks of chocolate.

Serve the Lord with gladness!

Give thanks to Him:

Come ye thankful people come, raise the song of harvest home!
All is safely gathered in, Ere the winter storms begin.

In all things, give thanks. For all things, give thanks. Give thanks regardless.
Thank Him for beauty spots, which He makes from common moles and warts.
Thank Him for the little itches that in the scratching makes your nails stronger.
Thank Him for the bird calls, the house calls, the phone calls,
The computer calls, the crank calls, the kids' calls.

Thank Him for the foods you don't like and people you don't like,
For broccoli and Hefner, and spinach and Lewinski,
For anchovies and Darth Vader, for Slobodan Milosvich and Green Eggs and Ham.

Thank Him for bothersome, dull television commercials and you will know you are truly a person of good will.

Thank Him for your income tax and you will know you are truly grateful to live in America.

Thank Him for the house calls of Jehovah's Witnesses and you will know you are truly free from prejudice.

Thank Him for Republicans if you're a Democrat, and for Democrats if you're a Republican.

Thank Him for your weaknesses that keep you ever turning to Him for strength.

Thank the Lord!

Come before His presence with singing!

Every need His hand supplying, Every good in Him I see.
On His strength divine relying, He is all in all to me!

Sing like Caruso, like an angel, like a frog!
Like a monotone, a quadrophone, a gramophone, a megaphone.
Sing like the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, the Vienna Boys Choir, the St. Olaf's Choir, the Senior Singers,
The Oakridge boys, the Florida Boys, the Beach Boys, Sing like Elvis, like Garth, like Patti, – but sing!

Sing your doctrine!
Sing that the Lord, He is God.
Sing that it is He that has made us in His image.

Now thank we all our God, With heart and hand and voices.
Who wondrous things has done, In whom His world rejoices!

It is God Who makes bad people good.
Who makes good people better,
Who makes goody, goody people possible to live with.

He has made us! Sing to the Lord!
We are fearfully and wonderfully made!
We have arteries and ovaries, pituitaries, pulmonaries and ears.
We have muscles and vessels and tonsils and auricles and ventricles and mandibles and follicles, umbilicals and vesicles!
It is He that hath made us and not we ourselves.
So sing to the Lord!

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture!

Give thanks for your sheephood!
Oh Bless His name!
He is our Shepherd, He leads us in paths of righteousness!
Give thanks for His leadership.
He lead us beside the still waters!
Give thanks for the waters!
He restoreth our souls.
Give thanks for the restoration!
We are His people! We have His blessings!
We have the blessing of peace, of prosperity, of poise, of personality, of privacy, of penance, of profit, persistence, perseverance and position in Christ.
Praise His name, He is ours! Rejoice all things are ours!
Salvation, sanctification, satisfaction.
All things are ours! Menthol, Protocol, Cepacol, ethanol for driving, alcohol for rubbing, and Hadacol for drinking.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving, Come into His courts with praise.

We gather together to ask the Lord's blessings,
He chastens and hastens His will to make known;
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine.

In His Kingdom are His promises.
In His Kingdom is our destiny.
In His Kingdom are our bread, our broth,
Our breath, our brotherhood,
Our brass ring,
Our brazen serpent of salvation.

Give thanks to Him and praise His name,
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever,
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
