Broadman & Holman slates 9 books for Feb. release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Nine books are scheduled for release in February by Broadman & Holman, the trade publishing division of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Baptist Press will begin carrying a list of each month’s upcoming releases, which can be purchased in LifeWay Christian Stores and other bookstores across the country.

Adult nonfiction:

— “Conquering Depression: A 30-Day Plan to Finding Happiness” by Mark A. Sutton and Bruce Hennigan, M.D., step-by-step encouragement and instruction to manage and win over depression.

— “Speaking with Bold Assurance: How to Become a Persuasive Communicator” by Bert Decker and Hershael W. York, a biblical view of public speaking with practical methodology for both laypeople and leaders.

— “Lessons Learned Looking Back: Strategies for Successful Living” by Todd Linaman and Laura Z. Sowers, a compilation of inspiring and instructive stories that address such topics as marriage, parenting, finances, friendships, career/work and spirituality.

Adult fiction:

— “Little White Lies: a Novel” by Ron and Janet Benrey. Set in the high stakes world of corporate recruiting, main character Pippa Hunnechurch is in a battle to solve a murder; save her business, her reputation and ultimately her life; and find the faith she shelved long ago.

Youth fiction:

— “No-Hitter: Chip Hilton Sports Series #17” by Clair Bee. A fictional sports series for youth featuring main character Chip Hilton who not only leads his college team to a baseball victory, but also exemplifies perseverance, strength of character and a foundation of faith in the process.

— “Piranha Picnic: Heebie Jeebies Series #9” by Rod Randall. In this youth fiction drama, a young boy imagines a nearby creek is filled with dangerous piranhas, which begins a story that hinges on finding out the truth and trusting in God’s Word.

— “Return to Terror Cove: Heebie Jeebies Series #10” by Paul Buchanan. When a group of children in the coastal town of Boulder Bay discover that a sci-fi movie was made in their area, they begin to think the fictional script may be coming true. This puts their courage and faith to the test as they attempt to discover who or what is really behind a series of strange events.

Youth nonfiction:

— “Beginning Bible Stories: Blessings for Baby Series” illustrated by Nicnole in den Bosch and written by Leslie Eckard. A board book for babies through age 3 that features 14 classic Bible stories and blessings, including Noah’s ark and the birth of Jesus.

— “Prayers and Promises: Blessings for Baby Series” illustrated by Nicnole in den Bosch and written by Leslie Eckard. A board book for babies through age 3 that features 14 prayers and promises about God’s faithfulness.
