Free devotional resource urges unity at the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting

[1]

ORLANDO (BP) – Messengers to the SBC Annual Meeting will be faced with dozens of decisions and much discussion. The Worship Initiative is offering a resource leaders hope will help prepare the hearts of those decision makers as they travel to the meeting.

The group is launching an eight-day devotional series with Scripture and songs based on Ephesians 4:1-6 as a free resource. It will be texted to those who register [2] between June 1-8 and is aimed at exploring “7 Marks of Unity”.

“We are praying the Lord will prepare our hearts so that we might arrive ready to exalt Jesus together,” Robbie Seay, head of mission and music for The Worship Initiative, told Baptist Press.

He says the series will focus on the seven aspects of unity mentioned in Ephesians 4:

SBC Worship was founded in 2025. In addition to Shane and Shane and Seay, Andrew McKinney provides leadership to the organization which will host the Worship Micro conference on Monday during the Pastors’ Conference. They say the devotion will be a mix of Scripture reading and devotional thought with a connecting song.

“We are passionate about the church singing,” Shane Barnard said, “And I’m not just talking about the professional singers. If you have vocal chords, God wants to hear you.”

Seay agrees and hope the resource will help the annual meeting “be all the richer because of what the Lord is doing during the week.”

Speakers include a variety of voices from the across the Southern Baptist Convention. Among them are:

The final devotion will be presented by Seay and Shane & Shane. It will be recorded from the Worship Stage in the SBC Annual Meeting Exhibit Hall on June 9 and be released June 10.

The resource is available at The Worship Initiative website [4].
