[1]March for Life announces speaker lineup
WASHINGTON, D.C. (BP) – Today (Jan. 11), the March for Life Education and Defense Fund [2] announced its full list of speakers for the 49th annual March for Life on Jan. 21. Marchers will be addressed in person by Members of Congress, Down Syndrome advocate Katie Shaw, Duck Dynasty star Lisa Robertson, actor Kirk Cameron, and other prominent pro-life leaders whose stories will inspire marchers to build a culture of life. Fr. Mike Schmitz, the Keynote Speaker for this year’s March for Life Rose Dinner, will also speak at the rally.
The theme [3] for this year’s March for Life, Equality Begins in the Womb, highlights how true equality is only possible if we recognize that children in the womb also deserve protection.
“We are delighted to welcome these incredible speakers to the March for Life,” said Jeanne Mancini [4], president of March for Life Education and Defense Fund. “Americans everywhere know that unborn children deserve equal rights and protection under the law. We expect this year’s March for Life to be historic with even higher levels of enthusiasm from participants. We are hopeful that, with Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization before the Supreme Court, 2022 will bring us much closer to building the culture of life we have all marched for since Roe v. Wade was tragically imposed on our nation nearly 50 years ago.”

The opening and closing prayers will be delivered by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Orthodox Church in the U.S., and by Cissie Graham Lynch of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, respectively.
[5]Christian artist Matthew West will perform a pre-rally concert from 11 a.m.-noon.
Students from Christendom College in Front Royal, Va., and Immanuel Lutheran High School in Alexandria, Va., will carry the banner and flags at the front of this year’s march.
Biblical exposition workshop scheduled

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) – A three-day Workshop on Biblical Exposition is planned in February to encourage and equip men in the skills needed to read, understand and proclaim the Word of God.
The Charles Simeon Trust workshop will be Feb. 2-4 and hosted by Third Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville. It will focus on helping men who are responsible for regularly preaching and teaching. Those involved in bivocational ministries are also invited.
The workshop includes times set aside for:
- Principles of exposition – instructional sessions on how to better handle biblical texts.
- Small group practice – participants will share and receive feedback on two passages that they prepare in advance. Text assignments will be from 2 Timothy.
- Expositions – the opportunity to “sit under the Word.”
“Each session is carefully designed to be interrelated for the greatest value in improving your work,” said Alex Duke, director of youth ministry and ecclesiological training at Third Avenue. “This is a workshop, not a conference. Partial participation is not permitted.”
The Simeon Trust website said the workshop’s purpose is to “increase each participant’s confidence and ability in rightly handling God’s Word.”
“The meat of the time is spent in small groups, where a trained leader leads each group,” Duke said. “Participants go through a book of the Bible and do homework leading up to it.”
He added that the workshop is designed to help participants “develop a preaching outline, what might be the main point and some applications.”
“It pushes you to be a better preacher,” he said. “It is definitely aimed at senior pastors or guys who preach often, as well as those who consistently lead Bible studies or are involved in regular teaching.”
The cost is $139 for registration before Wednesday (Jan. 12). After that date, the cost is $159. Lunch and refreshment breaks are provided each day at no cost.
Sessions are 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 3, and 8:15-12:15 p.m. on Feb. 4.
