Criswell College offers aid to mourners of bus crash

DALLAS (BP)–The Criswell College in Dallas has responded to the Metro Church of Garland bus crash by offering its professors and staff to the church for counseling and aid.

Scott Camp, senior pastor of Metro Church, is a graduate of Criswell College, and youth pastor Mark Moore expects to graduate from the school next May.

President Richard Wells of Criswell College has offered personal assistance to those involved with Metro Church, and the alumni board traveled to Garland on Monday to offer support. Some staff members from the college visited the crash site.

“When you see a sight like that, you’re shocked and it’s hard to describe in words,” said Rick Garner, director of church relations and alumni and assistant professor of pastoral ministry at Criswell. “However, a believer, like myself, has great confidence that those who died knew the Lord Jesus.”

He said that one of the victims, Amanda Maxwell, 13, had committed to be a singing missionary before the tragic crash.

“Pastor Scott asked that the community pray for the church, that God would be glorified,” Garner said.
