Draper admitted to hospital ICU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–James T. Draper Jr., a longtime Southern Baptist leader who served as president of LifeWay Christian Resources from 1991-2006, was admitted to Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas, Thursday and is in the intensive care unit, according to family members. The preliminary diagnosis is that he had a severe allergic reaction to a recent myelogram procedure.

LifeWay President and CEO Thom S. Rainer called on fellow employees and friends of LifeWay to pray for Draper, his wife Carol Ann and the Draper family.

“Jimmy Draper is one of most beloved Christian leaders of our time,” Rainer said. “All of us at LifeWay love him and consider him very much a part of our family. We are asking the Lord to give him strength, the doctors wisdom and the family courage in the days ahead.”
