‘Experiencing God’ trade book named book of the year finalist

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–In a first for the Baptist Sunday School Board’s Broadman & Holman Publishers, the trade edition of “Experiencing God” by Henry Blackaby and Claude King has been named one of five finalists for the Gold Medallion Christian Book of the Year.
Another finalist is “The Purpose Driven Church” by pastor Rick Warren, published by Zondervan. Warren is pastor of one of Southern Baptists’ fastest-growing congregations, Saddleback Community Church in Southern California.
Other finalists are “Beginning of the End” by John Hagee, published by Thomas Nelson; “In the Grip of Grace” by Max Lucado, published by Word; and “Left Behind” by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, published by Tyndale.
The winner of Book of the Year will be announced July 12 by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association.
