WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) – On Oct. 8-10, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary hosted its fall biannual board of trustees meeting and Southeastern Society (SES) gathering. Trustees appointed Seth Bible as dean of The College at Southeastern and celebrated reports of record giving, increased enrollment, and heightened participation in Great Commission efforts.

NEW ORLEANS (BP) -- On Wednesday, June 14, Southeastern Seminary hosted its annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast during the 2023 Southern Baptist Convention meeting in New Orleans. Themed “Keeping Jesus’s Mission at the Center,” the event encouraged women to not only treasure God’s Word and His mission but also work together for the kingdom of God.

On Saturday, June 3, Farsi-speaking church leaders and regional ministry workers gathered in Turkey for the inaugural graduation of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Persian Leadership Development program.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) – Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and The College at Southeastern celebrated 309 Great Commission graduates during Friday’s (May 12) spring commencement ceremonies. Trustees received institutional updates, elected faculty, approved the 2023-2024 budget, and celebrated commissioning chapel and the dedication of the Ty Williams Memorial pavilion on campus.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) – Keith Whitfield, who has served as provost at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary since 2020, is transitioning from his administrative roles as provost and dean of graduate studies to serve full time as associate professor of theology, effective June 1. Scott Pace, dean of The College at Southeastern, has been elected as new provost by the board of trustees, and Seth Bible, director of SEBTS prison programs, will serve as acting dean of The College.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) – Earlier this month, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) received the donation of an letter written by Lottie Moon, lifelong missionary to China in whose memory Southern Baptists receive their annual Christmas offering for international missions. Dated July 22, 1878, the letter is a remarkably preserved example of Moon’s correspondence and offers a glimpse into her early ministry.
