Falls Creek celebration marks end of era, beginning of new one

ARDMORE, Okla. (BP)--For years they came. They sat on hard, wooden benches with no room to stretch their legs. They sweated as the summer Oklahoma heat relentlessly pressed into their bodies. They raised their voices in praise to God. Some tried to sleep. Some listened intently as God's Word was proclaimed beneath the huge, open-air tabernacle. They walked the narrow, uneven aisles, making their way to the altar where they gave their lives to God, where they told Him they would be His for service anywhere in the world. Their lives and their eternities were forever changed.

God’s Mercy …

On 9-11, 2001, Americans experienced an act of terror that forever will change their lives. OKLAHOMA CITY (BP)--The clock on the scoreboard showed 1:32 left in the fourth quarter as 8-year-old Cody Brown took his last breath at his home in south Oklahoma City.
Just a few miles down the road, the University of Oklahoma Sooner football team was putting the finishing touches on its 52-28 victory over Fresno State.
On the sidelines, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops was leaving the field with his victorious team. He was wearing his signature OU visor, but this week it sported a gold pin in the shape of a looped ribbon -- a childhood cancer awareness pin given to the coach by Cody Brown.

Families Evangelizing Family Members

They've seen you at your worst. They know your weaknesses. They remember most of your sins. They are aware that you are far from perfect. And perhaps that's the reason it's so hard to witness to family members. Because they know all your inconsistencies and will never forget them, you don't feel you have credibility […]

Although some advised abortion, mom-to-be resolute in trusting God

EDMOND, Okla. (BP)--When Robin Fiechtl's second daughter was born, Fiechtl cried for three hours.
It wasn't because she was disappointed her second offspring was also a girl, and it wasn't even post-partum blues.
Fiechtl's cries were tears of happiness and praise because all 7 pounds, 12 ounces and 21 inches of Delaneigh Elizabeth were perfect.
It wasn't supposed to be that way.
If the baby made it to term, she was supposed to be either terribly deformed, brain-dead or born with little chance to take her first breath. And the outlook throughout the pregnancy wasn't bright for her mother, who also faced possible death.
