Ed Young Sr. retires from ministry

HOUSTON (BP) -- Longtime pastor of Houston’s Second Baptist Church Ed Young, Sr., has announced his retirement from preaching ministry. Young shared the announcement in a letter with the congregation May 26.

Queen on leave from pastoral duties following indictment

GREENSBORO, N.C. (BP) — Friendly Avenue Baptist Church announced Sunday morning that lead pastor Matt Queen will go "on administrative leave from his pastoral responsibilities." The announcement comes days after Queen was charged with one count of falsifying records “in connection with falsified notes Queen produced to the FBI related to an ongoing federal investigation.”

Georgia deacon charged with many counts of child sexual abuse

SYLVESTER, Ga. (BP) – Jerry Dan Heflin was arrested May 7 and charged with more than 60 felony counts, including child molestation, aggravated sodomy, sexual battery against a child and incest.
