MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — The State Convention of Baptists in Indiana (SCBI) Executive Board has elected Nicholas Ryan Clark as the convention’s next Executive Director. The decision follows a seven-month national search and interview process.
Clark will begin his new role Apr. 27, providing strategic leadership and ministry direction for Indiana Baptists.
“We are grateful for the Lord’s clear leadership throughout this process,” said Tami Hubler, SCBI Executive Board chairperson. “Dr. Clark brings a deep commitment to the authority of Scripture, a passion for evangelism, a strong focus on missions and a heart for partnering with Indiana churches.”
Hubler said Clark’s ministry aligns closely with SCBI’s purpose.
“We believe the Lord has prepared Dr. Clark for this season of ministry in Indiana,” Hubler said. “We are excited to see how God will use him to strengthen our churches and expand Gospel impact.”
Clark serves as pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cadiz, Ky., and brings more than 15 years of pastoral experience, along with active involvement in Southern Baptist life at the associational, state and national levels.
His ministry has focused on a commitment to evangelism and missions, including leadership in cooperative efforts that have mobilized churches and ministry partners to engage communities with the Gospel.
“I have a deep conviction that every church has a role to play in advancing the Gospel locally and globally,” Clark said. “I want to champion our cooperative work so we can exalt Jesus through the spread of the gospel.”
Clark says he is grateful for the opportunity to serve in Indiana.
“I am humbled by the call to serve as Executive Director of the SCBI and grateful for the opportunity to encourage Indiana Baptists in their cooperative work,” Clark said. “My family and I are eager to return to Indiana and partner with pastors and churches to advance the Gospel and fulfill the Great Commission together.”
A native of Evansville, Ind., Clark will be returning to his home state. He and his wife, Callie, along with their four children, will relocate from Kentucky.
Clark holds a Ph.D. in evangelism from Southern Seminary and serves as an adjunct professor. He has also served in denominational leadership, including as a trustee for the International Mission Board.
