Nostradamus’ prophecies debunked in book, video set for Oct. release

BELLFLOWER, Calif. (BP)–Did Nostradamus predict the attack on the World Trade Center? Did he write, “In the year of the new century and nine months … in the city of York there will be a great collapse, two twin brothers torn apart by chaos … on the 11th day of the 9th month … two metal birds would crash into two tall statues….”?

“Not quite,” said Ray Comfort, author of “The Secrets of Nostradamus Exposed,” which is being re-released in October as “Nostradamus: The Attack on New York … and Other Incredible Prophecies.”

Comfort maintains that the date given by Nostradamus is 1999 and that there is no mention in any of his prophecies about “twin brothers” being “torn apart.” Neither is there any reference to “metal birds” or “statues,” Comfort said.

Nostradamus’ writings are a billion-dollar industry. According to the BBC, “Books about Nostradamus, the apocalyptic prophet, have entered the bestseller list on the online retailer site Amazon.com since the terrorist attacks in the U.S.”

Comfort said, “Five years ago, I decided to delve into the famed prophecies of Nostradamus. After comprehensive study, I began to see a peculiar pattern. Nostradamus warned that the future would bring signs in the sun. Interestingly enough, so does the Bible. He forewarned of earthquakes. So does the Bible. He spoke of the earth being round. So does the Bible. He warned of a coming world leader — the anti-Christ. So does the Bible. He speaks of the dead coming out of their graves. So does the Bible. He prophesied that the Jews would get Israel back. So does the Bible. To my amazement, I uncovered documented evidence that Nostradamus read the Scriptures in secret, stole Bible prophecies and claimed them as his own. That’s why he is so famous. Anyone who is ignorant of Bible prophecy will be impressed with the prophecies of Nostradamus.”

Comfort discovered not only that the prophet plagiarized Bible prophecies but that there was no basis at all for Nostradamus’ other celebrated predictions — such as the assassination of President Kennedy, man landing on the moon and the rise of Hitler.

Comfort’s research also has been made into an award-winning documentary, also titled, “The Secrets of Nostradamus Exposed,” which also is being re-released under the title, “Nostradamus: The Attack on New York … and Other Incredible Prophecies.”

“The video distributor [American Portrait Films] has sold more copies of the video in three days than they had sold over the last three years,” Comfort recounted. “The exciting thing is that people are buying them through Amazon.com, which means that the customers are more than likely non-Christians. People are fearful of the future and are searching the writings of the occult prophet, looking for any mention of the outcome of a Third World War.

“These are the beginning of the days when ‘men’s hearts will fail them for fear of the things coming upon the earth,'” Comfort said.

“But the antidote for the disease of fear is faith in the promises of God. This is an unprecedented opportunity to point the world to the 100 percent accurate prophecies of the Bible. With the loss of so many lives, the issue must be handled with discretion and great gentleness,” Comfort said, describing his book as an inoffensive way to expose Nostradamus and his prophecies.

The re-released book, from Bridge-Logos Publishers, and the new video version will include new material addressing the alleged prophecies involving Sept. 11’s terrorism tragedies in New York and Washington.
