Bronze Star, Purple Heart restored by Baptist DR
SAN DIEGO (BP) -- A charred Bronze Star and Purple Heart were somewhere in the ashes after a wildfire destroyed Bill Cronkrite's house and outbuildings -- medals awarded to his son who was killed in Iraq in 2004. When a California Southern Baptist assessment team visited the site after this summer's 7,609-acre Border Fire, the medals of the late Army Sgt. Brud Joseph Cronkrite became a priority.
