FIRST-PERSON: Living in a day of many fears
ATLANTA (BP)--In this day of a great many fears, God reaches deep within our hearts and our minds and says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
FIRST-PERSON: In the world, but not of it
ATLANTA (BP)--The Scriptures contrast the thinking of the world with Truth from God. God warns us not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful.
FIRST-PERSON Have you lost your joy?
ATLANTA (BP)--David, in his great act of repentance, cried out unto God: “... restore to me the JOY [my emphasis] of YOUR salvation ...” (Psalm 51:12).
FIRST-PERSON: A shepherd’s heart
ATLANTA (BP)--Jesus prayed to the Father for His disciples, “I have declared to them Your Name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:26). What an incredible statement! Jesus’ one desire was that His disciples possess the same shepherd’s heart that the Father and the Son shared. Love has Christ’s heart –- which is a shepherd’s heart.
FIRST-PERSON: Why God asks us to pray
ATLANTA (BP)--It is a serious matter to ask, “Why does God ask us to pray?”
FIRST-PERSON: God’s presence in the marketplace
ATLANTA (BP)--In the Scriptures we find that the arena of God's constant activity is worked out primarily in and through the lives of those in the marketplace.
FIRST-PERSON: Preparing to enter 2005
ATLANTA (BP)--One should never enter a new year carelessly or casually but, rather, with passionate intent and great care! How should we do this? Most importantly, by giving special attention to the activity of God in our lives during 2004.
FIRST-PERSON: Staying focused on God in the real world
ATLANTA (BP)--Every believer must live and work in the midst of a real world that isn’t kind toward our Lord very often. There seems to be in our day a relentless opposition to the mention of God, and especially His Son, Jesus Christ -– our Lord.
FIRST-PERSON: Being a witness in the workplace
ATLANTA (BP)--Every believer lives with a divinely designed interdependence. We need others, and they need us. God has chosen to do things through His people while they serve Him together -– things He would not otherwise do.
