Missouri church ransacked, no known suspects

WARSAW, Mo. (BP) – The New Home Baptist Church sits outside of Warsaw, just down the road from the Baptist Ridge Camp of Fellowship Baptist Association. In late November the church was plagued by a series of increasingly drastic vandalism incidents. The damages from four separate incidents are estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars, according to church officials.

‘Horse whisperer’ proclaims Gospel at state fair

SEDALIA, Mo. (BP) -- David Frazier doesn't really like the term "horse whisperer." "That's kind of Hollywood. I haven't even seen the movie," Frazier said of a 1998 film starring Robert Redford who played the role of a horse trainer with a gift for understanding horses. "But we use the term here because people understand what it means, and it communicates to the audience that we are going to train a horse in front of them."

Bivocational pastors ‘not alone,’ Page says

HANNIBAL, Mo. (BP) -- "Bivocational pastors are my heroes" said Frank S. Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Executive Committee, as he addressed the annual session of the Bivocational and Small Church Leadership Network, May 13-14, at Hannibal-LaGrange University. "You are not alone," Page told the 55 pastors and wives gathered at the auditorium of the university in Hannibal, Mo., repeating a message he often shares as he speaks around the nation.
