A daughter's love
"I count it the highest honor to be known as your daughter," Samantha Koehn McGlothlin wrote in a letter to her father, Bill Koehn, after he was slain Dec. 30 in Yemen at the Baptist hospital where he had worked 30 years
BURLESON, Texas (BP)--During a memorial service in honor of their father, the daughters of slain Southern Baptist hospital administrator Bill Koehn made public letters they had written to their father after they received news of his death.      The letters, friends and family said, were part of the daughters' process of grieving and a way to honor their father's service. Janelda Koehn Pearce and Samantha Koehn McGlothlin granted permission for Baptist Press to reprint the letters.

WORLDVIEW: Living & dying for God in a dangerous world

Martha Myers
RICHMOND, Va. (BP)--The bullet that took Martha Myers' life came from a weapon disguised as a sick child.      What a bittersweet irony.      Myers, 57, delivered, vaccinated, healed, comforted and cared for thousands of children during her 24 years as a physician at the Baptist hospital in Jibla, Yemen. Her Southern Baptist colleague, hospital administrator Bill Koehn, made toys for Yemeni kids in his spare time.      The Yemeni man who got a semiautomatic pistol past hospital guards Dec. 30 by cradling it like an infant apparently knew what he was doing: targeting American Christians.

As 3 slain colleagues laid to rest, co-workers see ongoing ministry

SANAA, Yemen (BP)--International Mission Board workers in Yemen are grieving the deaths of three colleagues, but they are more convinced than ever that God is working in Yemeni hearts.

Kathleen Gariety was committed as a friend & neighbor in Yemen

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (BP)--Kathleen Gariety knew the immense danger of living in Yemen as an American and a Christian, but she saw the people around her as good friends and neighbors, her pastor told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (BP)--If Martha Myers had been told that she would be shot and killed in Yemen, she would have stayed there, her friends and relatives believe.
