Alberto Mottesi to address Hispanic fellowship meeting


NEW ORLEANS (BP)–Evangelist Alberto Mottesi will be among the featured speakers at the National Fellowship of Hispanic Southern Baptist Churches’ annual meeting June 9-10 at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Mottesi, who preaches throughout the United States and Latin America, will address both the 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday sessions of the Hispanic fellowship.

On Monday, June 11, the SBC Hispanic Church Planters Network Celebration will begin with a 6 p.m. dinner at Crescent City Baptist Church in New Orleans.

The Hispanic church planters will hear testimonies from Augusto Valverde and Gonzalo Rodriguez, pastors from Miami and Metarie, La., respectively, and a message from Rudy Gonzales, director of the North American Mission Board’s interfaith witness evangelism team. Also Bobby S. Sena and Roberto Gama, Hispanic leaders with NAMB’s church multiplication team, will introduce new church planting resources from the SBC agency.

“There’s life in Jesus” will be the theme of the June 9-10 National Fellowship of Hispanic Southern Baptist Churches.

In addition to Mottesi, of Anaheim, Calif., featured speakers will include Heberto Becerra, the fellowship’s president and pastor of First Hispanic Baptist Church, Plantation, Fla., and Jason Carlisle of the Southern Baptist International Mission Board staff.

Mabel Moriyon, minister of music at the Plantation church, along with the Louisiana State Fellowship Orchestra, will lead the music during the fellowship’s two-day meeting.

The work of various SBC agencies will be featured during the 2 p.m. Sunday session, followed by various ministry-oriented conferences at 2:40 and the fellowship’s business meeting at 4.
