NASHVILLE (BP) – Baptist Press is launching a new suite of email newsletters to help readers navigate key topics. The weekly newsletters should hit subscribers’ inbox beginning Monday, Jan. 9.
The topics to be covered are missions, discipleship, public policy and church leadership.
“I’m excited about the launch of these newsletters because it allows us to extend the resources we provide to Southern Baptists,” said Jonathan Howe, vice president for communications with the SBC Executive Committee.
Each of the topical newsletters will be sent once per week, scattered through the week.
“While we’ll continue to send morning and afternoon emails filled with stories and content, we believe these more narrowly-focused emails will help readers focus on stories of particular interest,” said Brandon Porter, SBC EC associate vice president for convention news and editor of Baptist Press.
Howe agreed, “… the ability for us as a news and information provider to focus on these four niche areas of content is critical to communicating clearly and succinctly to our audience.”
Powered by the new AxiosHQ platform, the newsletters will reflect a Smart Brevity reporting style and will feature stories from Baptist Press, podcasts, resources, videos and content from trustworthy sites.
Readers can subscribe to the newsletters at BaptistPress.com/subscribe, where they can also subscribe to the ongoing daily emails.
In 2022, Baptist Press launched a daily three-minute radio feature called Good News for Today. It currently airs on nearly 150 radio stations in the U.S. and is available as a podcast on most major platforms.
“These newsletters complement our award-winning news coverage and podcasts and allow us to highlight specific resources on specific topics to better serve Southern Baptists,” Howe said.
