Beth Moore, LifeWay to host 10 ‘Living Proof’ events in ‘06

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Internationally known Bible teacher Beth Moore and LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention have announced the addition of 10 “Living Proof Live” events in 2006. The events follow the 10 scheduled for 2005.

Dates and locations of the 2006 events are not yet finalized, but Moore expressed a desire to increase her focus on areas in U.S. geographic areas beyond the Bible Belt.

“We are excited to be working with Beth on a new slate of events for 2006,” said James T. Draper Jr., president of LifeWay. “Beth is a gifted teacher who has impacted lives around the world. Her Living Proof Live events challenge and encourage women with sound biblical instruction and help fulfill LifeWay’s vision of providing resources that transform lives and cultures. We value LifeWay’s relationship with Beth.”

In addition to reaching new U.S. audiences, Moore expressed a desire to host an event for ministers’ wives. “They stole my heart when I had the opportunity to serve them this past summer at a [Southern Baptist Convention] luncheon held in their honor,” Moore said. “I would have packed every one of them up and taken them home with me if I could have.”

“Beth really has a heart for ministers’ wives and the unique circumstances they deal with,” said Faith Whatley, LifeWay’s director of women’s ministries. “She recognizes the sacrifices they make and wants to support them as they minister to their husbands, families and local churches.”

Moore said she has never tried more intently to “hear the heart of God” regarding future plans between her and LifeWay.

“The sole desire of both Living Proof Ministries and LifeWay Christian Resources in our partnership is to please God,” she said. “I have gone back to the principle Dr. [Henry] Blackaby taught so many of us in ‘Experiencing God’ and that is to find where God is working and join Him there. For months now I’ve been taking the spiritual temperature at the events and asking God, ‘Are You still in this? Is this still what You want?’

“One of my worst nightmares would be continuing on in an avenue of ministry where God was no longer present and active. After a tremendous amount of prayer and many conversations with my praise team leader, Travis Cottrell, and his wife, Angela, we believe God is still in this. It is, therefore, our honor to partner with LifeWay in the ministry of encouraging people to love the Lord Jesus Christ and know Him through His Word.”

Moore has one “Living Proof Live” event scheduled yet this year as well as the 10 scheduled for 2005. More details and registration information can be found at www.lifeway.com/women under the “women’s events” tab. The announcement of the 2006 events comes just a few weeks after the announcement that Moore’s next Bible study, “The Patriarchs,” will be released through LifeWay in the spring of 2005.
