Missouri Baptist soccer scores historic win

ST. LOUIS (BP)–Missouri Baptist College’s men’s soccer team made history Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Columbia College Cougars for the first time in the program’s life.

It also marked the first win against a nationally ranked team, as the Cougars are 8th in the latest national poll.

“This is a huge win for the program, and it is specially sweet for our two seniors, Brian Cross and Greg Gutting, who have endured many challenges in their years at MBC,” said coach Juan Pablo Favero. “We give the glory to God and offer this win up as an offering since he is the source of all of our success. This win will give us tremendous momentum if we can stay humble and focused on every game left in the schedule.”
