NAMB hosts 200 church planters for Send Network Orientation

By Brandon Elrod/NAMB

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The North American Mission Board (NAMB) hosted the first Send Network Orientation of 2023 from March 20-22, with 200 church planting missionaries sent out from 174 different churches. Together, they will plant in 34 states and three Canadian provinces, sharing the gospel in seven different languages.

More than 60 of the church planters who attended this week are working through Send Network Español to plant Hispanic churches.

“We had an incredible time at Send Network Orientation,” said Send Network President Vance Pitman. “I am so thankful for this class of church planters and their passion for God’s kingdom to be expanded locally and globally. Please pray for these men and their families as they engage their communities with the gospel.”

Send Network Orientation introduces Southern Baptist church planting missionaries to the Send Network family by leading them through several core values: deepen devotion, think multiplication, stick together, engage your city and seek first the kingdom.

The missionaries will join the ranks of thousands of other Southern Baptist church planting missionaries who have started new churches since 2010.

NASB Tony Evans Study Bible arrives April 2023

By Lifeway Staff

NASHVILLE (BP) – Holman Bibles, a division of B&H Publishing, will release The NASB Tony Evans Study Bible on April 1, 2023. Evans’ landmark study Bible has been embraced by hundreds of thousands of readers worldwide since its 2019 debut in the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) translation. This year’s new edition will feature the trusted text of the New American Standard Bible (NASB, 2020 edition), the translation Evans teaches from most often.

“We are honored to offer Dr. Evans’ popular study Bible alongside the NASB text,” says Andy McLean, publisher for Holman Bibles. “Nearly 400,000 people have already embraced The CSB Tony Evans Study Bible and The Tony Evans Bible Commentary since their introduction almost four years ago. We look forward to expanding that kingdom impact with this new NASB edition as more and more people benefit from Dr. Evans’ notes and teaching.”

Evans is one of the world’s most influential church leaders and has been faithful in his proclamation of the Gospel for more than 50 years. He is senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas and founder of The Urban Alternative, a Christian Bible teaching and resource ministry.

The NASB is one of the most literal translations of the Bible, using a formal equivalence translation philosophy. This word-for-word translation method allows people to read, study, and teach with confidence. The NASB Tony Evans Study Bible offers the NASB text alongside study notes, commentary, sermons, and writings which are crafted and curated by Evans.

Special features include study notes from Evans’ sermons, videos, devotionals, inspirational articles, charts, maps and much more.

The Tony Evans Study Bible came about because of a worldview called the kingdom agenda, which I define as the visible manifestation of the comprehensive rule of God over every area of life,” Evans said. “I’m excited to have this study Bible available with the translation I teach from most often – the NASB.”

Holman Bibles will support the release of The NASB Tony Evans Study Bible with a Pastor Resources marketing campaign, influencer outreach campaigns, and targeted digital and print advertising.
