INDIANAPOLIS (BP) – The Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting featured an appreciation luncheon for chaplains on June 11 at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The event celebrated the dedication and service of chaplains who minister in challenging environments where traditional church access is limited.

INDIANAPOLIS (BP)– Send Relief leaders emphasized the importance of caring for refugees at a breakfast the ministry hosted on June 12 at the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Annual Meeting in Indianapolis. The event, which featured church planting missionaries from the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB), aimed to rally support for global refugee assistance and featured inspiring stories from those on the front lines of this critical mission.

DENVER (BP) – In Denver, many church buildings have become condos. There is only one evangelical congregation for every 32,000 residents, but there’s a marijuana dispensary for every 2,096 residents.

“Simple touch points of appreciation go a long way,” said Greg Wilton, Send Relief’s national director of refugee ministry. “A Day of Service is the easiest onramp for churches to get connected with their communities and give people an opportunity to discover ways to be involved with ministry in their own neighborhoods.”
