TRANSCRIPT: Praying for victims to find comfort from ‘a power greater than any of us’

EDITORS' NOTE: Following is a transcript of President Bush's address to the nation the evening of Sept. 11.

WASHINGTON (BP)--Good evening. Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes, or in their offices; secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers; moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.

TRANSCRIPT: A ‘decision with great care, and I pray it is the right one’

CRAWFORD, Texas (BP)--Good evening. I appreciate you giving me a few minutes of your time tonight so I can discuss with you a complex and difficult issue, an issue that is one of the most profound of our time.
