FIRST-PERSON: Bible distribution, the Galápagos and the Galapagueños

What if I told you the people of the Galápagos Islands are far more precious than the beaches, the volcanoes, or the endangered wildlife living on the islands?  What if what’s most noteworthy about the Galápagos isn’t what the history books, documentaries or tourists take note of?  What if I told you the most important part of the Galápagos is the people -- the Galapagueños themselves?

FIRST-PERSON: I’m feeling the loss

TIGERVILLE, S.C. (BP) – I am the fabled, unbridled optimist. For some reason, the sun always seems to be shining where I live. The grass appears green on both sides of the yard. The sky is perpetually blue. And the clouds have a relentless silver lining. And yet, in full honesty, I’m feeling the loss. 

FIRST-PERSON: Considering homeschooling in a COVID-19 world

TIGERVILLE, S.C. (BP) -- I recently learned that over 30 percent of students at our local elementary school will not be returning this fall for in-person instruction. While many of these students will be staying home to engage in public education virtually, 10 percent of the total school population is actually pulling their kids out and opting to home school.
