‘Woodlawn’: A dad’s recollections stir movie
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BP) -- Can faith and football heal a racially divided community? Absolutely -- according to a movie made by and about Alabamians now showing nationwide. "Woodlawn," released in theaters Oct. 16, tells the true-life story of revival and reconciliation at Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Ala., following government-mandated desegregation at the school.
