Solo career
Toby McKeehan, also known as TobyMac, won a Dove for Short Form Video for “Irene,” a song he wrote about a real life story. McKeehan, formerly with DC Talk, said he likes to engage social and political issues in his work.

Hailing from San Diego, Souljahz are three siblings ranging in age from 18 to 23. The group was nominated for three Dove Awards including New Artist of the Year.

The duo Mary Mary took home honors for Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “In the Morning,” from their “Incredible” album.
