NASHVILLE (BP) – Women serving in various leadership roles throughout the Southern Baptist Convention gathered for the second annual Women’s Leadership Network meeting June 14 at the Music City Center to hear from three leaders with varying degrees of experience in the SBC.

NASHVILLE (BP) – International Mission Board President Paul Chitwood made a confession to the thousands gathered in the Music City Center on Monday (June 14). As 2020 dragged on, he said, challenge after challenge made the IMB’s goals seem further and further beyond reach.

NASHVILLE (BP) – Matt Henslee, pastor of Mayhill Baptist Church in Mayhill, N.M., was elected president of the 2022 SBC Pastors’ Conference Monday afternoon over four other nominees. Also elected to join him next year will be Vice President Cam Triggs, pastor of Grace Alive Church in Orlando, and Treasurer Sam Greer, pastor of Red Bank Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

NASHVILLE (BP) – If the SBC Executive Committee’s meeting Monday (June 14) is any indication, the convention’s annual meeting this year could involve drama.

NASHVILLE (BP) – As the SBC prepares to hold its first annual meeting in two years – and perhaps its largest in a quarter century – several Southern Baptist leaders and others are pushing back on questions about its trajectory, saying the Convention remains aligned with Scripture, with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and to its cooperative mission.

NASHVILLE (BP) – SBC presidential candidate Randy Adams said he, along with others he declined to name, combined to fund the publication and delivery of a tabloid-styled newspaper. “SBC News” was being distributed outside the Music City Center Sunday and Monday (June 13-14).
