Bikers ‘Rally to Ridgecrest’ for Memorial Day weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Christian motorcyclists from around the country are planning to converge on Ridgecrest Conference Center near Ashville, N.C. over the Memorial Day weekend, May 22-25.

Retired Lt. Col. Oliver North will be the featured speaker for the fourth edition of the annual rally, Sunday morning, May 24, according Ron Pratt, national event planner for LifeWay Conference Centers. North is a former member of the U.S. National Security Council staff and served as the federal government’s counter-terrorism coordinator from 1983 to 1986. He now hosts a Fox News Channel documentary series, “War Stories with Oliver North.”

Holding the event over Memorial Day weekend gives riders an opportunity to honor the sacrifice so many of America’s military personnel have made to ensure the country’s freedom, Pratt said. “That freedom guarantees our right to worship Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,” he noted.

In addition to North, speakers include Dave Burton, evangelism director for the Florida Baptist Convention, and Christian comedian Jeff Allen, Pratt said. Participants also will enjoy long rides along the winding back roads of the Great Smoky Mountains.
