NAMB radio programs receive top rankings


ALPHARETTA, Ga. (BP)–All four radio programs produced
by the North American Mission Board rank among the top 10
syndicated religious radio programs, including the number
one spot, according to Religious Broadcasting magazine.
Occupying the top slot is “Powerline,” a fast-paced
program of contemporary music hosted by Jon Rivers. “Country
Crossroads” ranks third and features top country hits and
interviews with country music artists. In the eighth and
ninth spot, respectively, are “MasterControl,” a magazine
program featuring travel, financial, health and
entertainment segments and “The Baptist Hour,” which
combines Christian music with teachings by Frank Pollard,
pastor of First Baptist Church, Jackson, Miss.
Rounding out the top 10 are 2) “The Lutheran Hour,” 4)
“Focus on the Family Weekend,” 5) “Adventures in Odyssey” (a
Focus on the Family program), 6) “Unshackled,” 7) “Hour of
Decision” with Cliff Barrows and Billy Graham and 10)
“Children’s Bible Hour.”
Religious Broadcasting magazine ranks the top 25
programs each year based on the number of stations that run
the syndicated programs. Powerline is picked up each week on
1,105 stations that include the Armed Forces Radio and
Television Service’s 450 land-based outlets in more than 140
countries and U.S. territories.
