LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP)–Chapel sermons and other addresses at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., are now available on the seminary’s Internet site in RealAudio format.
Visitors to the site at www.sbts.edu can listen to the messages with their RealPlayer G2, a free tool available for download on the Internet. The seminary page contains a link for those surfers who wish to install the player on their computers.
“We are delighted to offer this groundbreaking service to Southern Baptists,” said James A. Smith Sr., director of public relations for Southern Seminary. “The Southern Seminary community has the privilege of hearing some of the leading preachers and speakers in the Southern Baptist Convention and the evangelical world. Now, anyone with Internet access and RealAudio can also experience the edifying teaching and preaching which takes place every week on Southern Seminary’s campus.”
Messages are posted several hours after the conclusion of the worship service or lecture. A list of upcoming chapel speakers and lecturers also is available on the website.
Some recent speakers whose messages can be heard on the Southern Seminary site include Alistair Begg, James Merritt, John Piper and Adrian Rogers.
Don Glass, of Cape Town, South Africa, was one of the first surfers to use the new feature. “The audio downloads are clear, effective and great,” Glass said in a message to the seminary. “The ministry is meaningful, Christ-centered and clearly aimed at outreach and building up the people of God.”
