CENTENNIAL, Colo. (BP) — Trustees of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Campus during the board’s Oct. 10-11 meeting in Centennial, Colo.
Trustees expanded the Ph.D. program to include theology as a major field and created The President’s Council — a group of seminary advocates with professional competencies to assist GGBTS President Jeff Iorg with strategic decisions.
In celebrating the Rocky Mountain Campus’ anniversary, campus director Steve Veteto told trustees and a crowd of more than 200, including many affiliated with the Colorado campus, “For 15 years the people of Colorado have heard and responded to God’s call. When I look out at you all, I see our graduates as well as current students. Our alumni and students are changing the world for eternity.”
“Thank you for the support you’ve shown to the Rocky Mountain campus and the seminary system,” Iorg said in presenting recognitions to donors, supporters and Colorado Baptist leaders. “Your generosity enables us to train leaders in Colorado and the surrounding states. We are grateful for our partnership with Colorado Southern Baptists and the significant difference we continue to make in this region.”
Trustees heard presentations by two professors at the Rocky Mountain Campus, Allan Karr, associate professor of church planting and director of the seminary’s Nehemiah Project affiliated with the North American Mission Board, and Earl Waggoner, associate professor of theology and church history. Trustees also heard reports from the seminary’s four other regional campuses.
Also during their meeting, trustees approved minor adjustments to administrative procedures related to confidentiality and conflict of interest statements for trustees; reviewed reports on all areas of seminary operations, including a progress report on the plan for the Northern California Campus master plan; and accepted the seminary’s most recent audit.
