The compassion of Jerry Falwell
LYNCHBURG, Va. (BP)--"Jerry Falwell hated gay people." "Jerry Falwell blamed abortions on promiscuous women." "Jerry Falwell wanted to lock up all the drug addicts in prison." In the past week, I have heard more misinformation, deceptive reporting, and downright bias concerning Dr. Jerry Falwell than I could imagine.
FIRST-PERSON: Michael Moore & ‘hatriotism’
LYNCHBURG, Va. (BP)--He was lauded with a 20-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival. A.O. Scott of The New York Times called his movie a "passionate expression of outraged patriotism." At the June showing of Fahrenheit 911 before the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science in Los Angeles, he received a standing ovation for over a minute.
