We must ‘know as we ought to know,’ Mohler tells SBTS students

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – “We must not only know, but know as we ought to know.” With these words, President R. Albert Mohler, Jr. welcomed students, faculty, and guests to the Spring 2025 Convocation at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College. As the new academic term begins, the seminary reaffirms its commitment to the pursuit of knowledge – not merely for its own sake, but in service to God and His Church.

‘Speak constantly of Jesus,’ Mohler tells graduates

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) – “How can this not make a believer’s heart happy?” President R. Albert Mohler, Jr., asked as he opened the 234th Commencement of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Alumni Chapel was filled with joyful anticipation as 296 graduates from 37 states and 26 countries gathered with their families, friends and professors. More than a ceremony, the event was a commissioning, sending these ministers of the Gospel into a world longing for the hope of Christ.

SBTS trustees reflect on institutional strength, stewardship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) – Amid cultural shifts and challenges in theological education, the trustees of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary convened Monday to conduct regular business and praise the Lord for the continued strength and health of the institution. Trustees expressed their continued confidence in the leadership of President R. Albert Mohler, Jr., as he stewards the seminary’s mission of training future ministers and leaders for the Southern Baptist Convention with faithfulness.
